Moore Habitat Management Area
Disclaimer: This trail is for the adventurer! I've tried to navigate many, many times and have had difficulty in actually locating the trail. A few minutes into the trail the bridge that is supposed to go overwater is generally under the water...so impassable. I usually end up along the riverbed and sitting for awhile instead. That was until I visited in winter!
I mostly had no idea where I was going.
Arty and I managed our way over this second sketchy bridge. It is higher up from the frozen water below than it looks.
The Moore Habitat Management Area includes an experimental tall grass prairie site, floodplain forest, upland forest and open/shrub areas. This area is prime upland bird habitat. Four km of trails crisscross this diverse park. The Management Area is located on Bickford Line just east of the Kimball Side Road.
Always remember to:
- Pack out what you pack in
- Walk single file when passing
- Yield to hikers coming uphill
- Respect wildlife
- Stay on the trail
Happy hiking & stay safe!
